What to pack!?!

Okay ladies, we all do it, we go on vacation and pack everything we "think" we need and then not use but some of our outfits or stuff that we bring. HOWEVER this IS NOT vacation. Even though you will probably be thrilled to get to basic training :) dont pack a bunch of stuff itll save you lots of $ and time and stress if you get a proper agenda of what you need and what you dont need, cuz women need special items right? Right. But we can be made a fool of going to bootcamp so set into your mind before you leave that its strictly "boot camp" not time to be pretty, or special, or to have a good time. Its going to be hard, tireing, and most of all you have to learn respect. In basic EVERYBODY is the same. Everyone. There are no exceptions. If you try and be the slightest different you ALL will be punished and get worked harder than normal. So ditch the pretty undies and bras and cute hair ties and makeup because I promise you they will make fun of you and make you an example to everyone that is there. Just dont do it. Be as plain as you can. Be tough, dont cry, dont complain, and do not try to get out because it will take you 10 times longer than if you just go through basic. But im going to help you ladies out, so you will have the least stressfull time at basic because you went prepared. Im going to divide the packing list for each branch because like i mentioned in my News Feed tab every branch requres different stuff. It may take me a few days to get it posted but stay in touch with my blog and it'll be posted as soon as i type it up. Stay posted :)

Updated "What branch do I want Enlist In?'

So I know in one of my previous notes I said I wanted to be in the Navy and fly jets, HOWEVER I have changed my mind for several months now and I'll tell you my reasons why...

So first let me tell you why I changed my mind. In the navy, just like every other branch, they have requiremens for basic training. Each branch has different requirements, so if your looking for information for basic training on youtube or whatever and its not about the specific branch your looking into DON'T follow it. Because what it does is confuses you about what to bring and what not to bring to basic. Every branches basic training is different. So if your looking for info "make sure" it is in your branch only. It'll save lots of time. So anyways I made the mistake of doing that and I missed key points that ment alot to me, requirements in the Navy that I diddnt know were there. Among those requirements, as a female my hair means alot to me, yes it probably sounds silly but as a woman whos hair does not grow back fast at all you learn to value your hair. From what all the "other" branches had said, you could put it in a bun and you'll be fine. But the Navy has kept the old requirement i guess and they require you to cut it above your collar or else they will gladly cut it off for you. So I changed my mind, but thats not the only reason why.

The second reason I decided not to is because There isnt a high demand for pilots. In fact many dont get in because only the highest scoring people usally get in. Its takes quite a bit of training also and to be honest I dont want to train for something and then not be garuanteed the job right away. So it wasnt a big deal since i have only a couple years still bout 2 and 1/2 so thats why I have time and a brain for right :) Anyways thats why I decided not to enlist in the Navy. I decided that I would research the other branches and see what I thought.

I did research on the Army. The most common branch people enlist into. I also have several friends in the army so I looked into it and Iv decided to enlist in the Army. Theres a wide variety of jobs and places you can be based at and the pay I think is the same. I just like the overall set up of the army and basic training seems a lil bit more true and demanding. It honestly looks and sounds fun in my opinion so I chose it. Im going to try and get based in alaska with my good buddy, he says its beautifull up there so hopefully they can get me ported up there and put it on my contract. But if you guys have more questions just ask and ill answer them, and ill update more later (:

Airforce

So the airforce is one of the smaller branches of the military. It contains aircraft and performs aviation support and covers air defense for the military. Despite being a fraction smaller than the other branches, the Airforce has the highest academic and fitness standards compared to the other branches. They are hardworking and get the job done like every other branch.

Because the Airforce is smaller than the other branches jobs can be a bit tight depending on the population of incoming trainees which tend to be a high amount. When taking the ASVAB ( Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery ) you will be tested in Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, and Mathematics Knowledge. Theres two main reasons for taking this test #1 is to determine if you have the mental aptitude to be in the Airforce and #2 is to determine which jobs are most suitable for you. Heres a video on the ASVAB.

After you have been tested and have passed,
your recruiter will set a date for you to go

Station )

Hey again, im back from vacation and i must say it was a very good one. I got to sleep in most the time, and we went out to eat alot (pizza in orlando is delicious) and of course we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I always enjoy theme parks and I rode "all" the rollercoasters which was the most exciting. after that the last day in Orlando we went go cart racing haha it was enjoyable. Then this past week we were back home again and got to rest alot which I needed. Finally now I start school again tomorrow and I "will not" be looking foreward to it lol. But schooling is essential. Anyways hope everyone had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year of 2013!
